Emeli

Terms

Last updated October 17, 2026

These terms cover your use of Emeli: this website and the app at app.emeli.io. By creating an account you agree to them, and to our Acceptable Use Policy. They're written to be read; questions go to hello@emeli.io.

A beta, built in the open

Emeli is in a private beta. Features will change, some will be added or removed, and things may occasionally break. We'll tell you before we start charging for anything you use.

Your account

  • Give accurate details and keep your sign-in safe.
  • You're responsible for what happens in your account, including what teammates you invite do there.
  • You need to be at least 16 to use Emeli.

Your writing and your readers

You own what you write and the subscriber lists you bring or build. You let us store, process and send them only as needed to run Emeli for you, and you can export or delete them.

You're responsible for having permission to email everyone on your list, and for following the email and privacy laws that apply to you and your readers, such as CAN-SPAM and the GDPR.

Sending limits and reviews

To protect deliverability for every writer, new publications start with a daily sending limit that grows after clean sends. We may pause a send whose bounces or spam reports pass a safe level, lower a limit, or suspend an account that puts other writers at risk. We'll explain why and work it out with you where we can.

The writing assistant

Suggestions from the assistant can be wrong. You decide what to keep and you're responsible for what you send. Text you ask it to work on is sent to our AI provider to produce the result, as described in our privacy page.

Availability

We work hard to keep Emeli running, but we provide it as is, without guarantees of uptime or fitness for a particular purpose. Keep your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose.

As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost data, arising from your use of Emeli.

Ending things

You can stop using Emeli at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy: with notice when we reasonably can, and right away for serious abuse such as spam or phishing.

Changes

If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top and email account holders about anything that matters.
