Emeli is a newsletter platform, currently in private beta. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect and why. Questions go to hello@emeli.io.
This website
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or ads. It is served by Cloudflare, which keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses) to protect the site from abuse.
Writers who use Emeli
We store your account details (name, email address, password hash), the posts you write, and the subscriber lists you add or import. We use them only to run the service for you, and we never sell them.
A few companies help us run it: Amazon Web Services delivers email, Cloudflare hosts files and the website, and Anthropic powers the writing assistant, which only sees the text you ask it to work on.
Readers of newsletters sent with Emeli
When you subscribe to a newsletter, the writer decides what to send you, and Emeli stores what's needed to deliver it: your email address, any details you give the writer, when and where you signed up and confirmed, and whether emails were delivered, opened or clicked.
Every email has a link to unsubscribe in one click and a link to your preferences, where you can download your data or delete it. If you delete it, we keep only a one-way fingerprint of your address so you can't be added back by mistake.
Changes
If we change this page, we'll update the date at the top, and tell writers by email about anything important.
